Terms of Service

This is the most important term here. MacroSight is a general-purpose food logging and estimation tool. It is not a medical device, and nothing in it is medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition.

Calorie targets are produced by a standard formula from the details you enter. They are a starting estimate for a general adult population, not a plan prescribed for you. Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before making significant changes to how you eat, particularly if you are pregnant, are managing a medical condition such as diabetes or kidney disease, have a history of disordered eating, or are acting for a child.

If you feel unwell, seek medical help rather than consulting an app.

The scan feature uses artificial intelligence to guess what is on your plate from a photograph. It will sometimes be wrong — about the food, the portion, or both. We show you every item before anything is saved precisely so you can correct it. You are responsible for reviewing what you log.

Nutrition figures come from third-party databases and from that AI estimate. We do not warrant that any calorie or macronutrient figure is accurate.

Your account is identified by your email address. You secure it with a password, or by signing in with Google. Keep access to that mailbox secure: anyone who can read it can reset your password and reach your account. Tell us at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you believe someone else has access.

You may delete your account at any time from inside the app. What that removes is set out in our Privacy Policy.

• MacroSight is free to use for logging. MacroSight Plus is an optional paid subscription that unlocks unlimited AI scans, full history and trends, recipe details and saved meals.
• Plus is offered as a monthly and a yearly plan. The price you pay is the one shown in the app at the moment of purchase, in your local currency, as set by the App Store or Google Play.
• Both plans include a seven-day free trial where you are eligible. Eligibility is determined by Apple or Google, not by us.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You are charged through your Apple or Google account, and the renewal happens within 24 hours of the period ending unless you cancel beforehand.
• Cancel through the store, in your Apple or Google account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, and neither does deleting your MacroSight account.
• Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their policies, not by us. We cannot issue, reverse or expedite a store refund. Requests go to whichever store you purchased from.

You agree not to use MacroSight to:

• Upload content that is illegal, abusive, or that depicts another person without their consent.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data.
• Probe, scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
• Resell or redistribute the service or its content.

We may remove a photograph or redact a meal name that breaches this, and we may suspend or close an account that does so repeatedly. When we act on your content, we record what was changed and why.

Your photographs and food logs remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your content, to send meal photographs to our AI provider to produce an estimate, and to display it back to you. We do not use your photographs to train AI models, and we do not publish them.

We aim to keep MacroSight available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features that depend on third parties — the AI provider, the nutrition and recipe databases, the stores, the SMS network — can fail or change, and we may have to change or withdraw a feature as a result.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any health outcome arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [SEAT OF JURISDICTION — CITY] have exclusive jurisdiction.

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use MacroSight after that means you accept the updated terms.
